This blueberry lemonade is the kind of drink that looks a little fancy but is actually super easy to make. You just blend the blueberries, stir in fresh lemon juice and water, and suddenly you have a refreshing fruity homemade drink that feels so nice on a warm day!

My family really loves this homemade blueberry lemonade recipe and it is especially perfect for the kiddos! It is bright, fruity, refreshing, and such a fun little drink to have on warm days.
This recipe will definitely be one of our go-to drinks this summer, and I hope it will be yours too!
And I really love recipes like this because you can make them at home with fresh ingredients instead of grabbing soda from the store. It feels a little more special and it tastes so much better too, haha.
Why You’ll Love This Blueberry Lemonade
Flavor: Sweet and so refreshing. The lemon and blueberries are SUCH a good match.
Ease: Very easy. You only need 4 ingredients, then all you have to do is blend and stir.
Texture: You get to choose. You can strain it for a smoother drink or leave it a little more fruity, and I’ll show you both options below.
Time: Super quick. Chill it in the fridge for 30 minutes, or just fill the jar with ice and you’re good to go!

Fresh Blueberry Lemonade
Ingredients
- 1 1/3 cups blueberries
- 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 1/2 cups cold water
- ice
- lemon slices
- extra blueberries
- fresh mint leaves
Instructions
- This recipe was made in a jar that holds about 5 cups (1.15 liters). Wash the blueberries if you are using fresh ones. If you are using frozen blueberries, let them sit at room temperature for 5 to 10 minutes so they soften a little. Juice the lemons until you have 1/2 cup of fresh lemon juice, and remove any seeds.
- Add the blueberries, sugar, and about 3/4 cup of the water to a blender. Blend for 40 seconds to 1 minute, or until the mixture is smooth.
- For a smoother lemonade, pour the blueberry mixture through a fine-mesh strainer into a pitcher. If you like a more fruity texture, you can leave it unstrained.
- Pour the fresh lemon juice into the pitcher and stir well.
- Add the remaining water and stir until everything is well combined.
- Taste the lemonade and adjust if needed. Add a little more sugar if it tastes too tart, a little more lemon juice if it tastes too sweet, or a splash more water if it feels too strong.
- Place the pitcher in the fridge for at least 30 minutes before serving. If you are short on time, you can serve it right away over plenty of ice.
- Pour into glasses and serve with ice, lemon slices, extra blueberries, or fresh mint if you like.
Notes
- Fresh lemon juice gives the best flavor.
- Frozen blueberries can give the lemonade an even deeper color.
- Strain it for a smoother drink, or leave it unstrained for a more fruity and rustic texture.
- Start with the listed amount of water so the flavor stays nice and strong.
- Store leftovers in the fridge and stir before serving.

How to Make Blueberry Lemonade
This recipe comes together really fast, which is one more reason I LOVE it so much, haha. You are basically making a quick blueberry base, mixing in the lemon juice and water, and then letting the fridge do the rest. Easy!
Add the blueberries, sugar, and a little of the water to a blender, then blend until the mixture looks smooth and evenly mixed. This first step helps break down the berries and gives you all that bold blueberry flavor and pretty color.

After that, you can decide what kind of texture you want. If you want a smoother lemonade, pour the mixture through a fine-mesh strainer into your jar. If you like it a little more fruity and homemade, you can leave it just as it is.

Once that is done, stir in the fresh lemon juice and the rest of the water. Give it a really good mix, then taste it before chilling. This is the best time to adjust anything.
You can add a little more sugar if it feels too tart, a little more lemon juice if you want it brighter, or a small splash of water if it tastes too strong.

Then just pop it in the fridge for about 30 minutes so it gets nice and cold. If you are in a hurry, go ahead and add plenty of ice and serve it right away. Pour it into glasses, add a few lemon slices or extra blueberries if you want to make it look cute, and that’s it. Homemade blueberry lemonade, ready to enjoy!

How to Store
Store any leftover blueberry lemonade in a covered jar or pitcher in the fridge for up to 3 days. Just give it a good stir before serving, because some of the blueberry mixture may settle at the bottom a little as it sits…
If you already know you want to serve it extra cold, you can keep it plain in the fridge and add ice right before pouring. That way it stays nice and flavorful. I do not really recommend freezing this one. It is best fresh and ready to pour straight from the fridge!
Serving Ideas
On a hot day, nothing hits quite like a cold glass of blueberry lemonade! But of course, a fun drink always feels even better with a few snacks on the side too.
If we are outside, hanging by the pool, or just sitting in the backyard for a bit, I like setting out easy little things everyone can grab. Snack mix, pinwheels, fresh fruit, chips, or veggies with dip are always good ones around here.
And, it is just as nice for a simple afternoon at home. Pour it over ice, add a lemon slice, and it already feels like a little summer treat, haha.

I really love having easy recipes like this in my back pocket during summer. It feels a little more special than opening a soda, the kiddos get excited, and everyone is suddenly asking for another glass. That sounds like a WIN to me!
