Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- ⅛ teaspoon baking powder
- ⅛ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 pinch salt
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon milk
- 2 teaspoons honey
- 1 large egg yolk
- 1 tablespoon chocolate chips or chopped chocolate
- Extra honey for drizzling optional
Instructions
- In a large microwave-safe mug or small bowl, stir together the flour, cocoa powder, brown sugar, cinnamon, baking powder, and salt.
- Add the melted butter, milk, honey, and egg yolk. Stir until smooth.
- Spoon half of the batter into a microwave-safe mug that holds at least 12 to 14 ounces. Add the chocolate chips or chopped chocolate to the center, then cover with the remaining batter. Do not fill the mug more than two-thirds full.
- Microwave for 35 to 40 seconds, then continue in 5 to 10 second bursts only if needed, until the top looks just set and the center is still slightly soft.
- Let rest for 1 minute. Drizzle with extra honey if desired, then serve warm.

Notes
- For a gluten-free version, use a 1:1 gluten-free flour blend.
- Microwave wattages vary, so start checking early. Overcooking can make the brownie dry or slightly burnt.
- For a milder flavor, reduce the cinnamon slightly or leave it out.
- A small square of chocolate works just as well as chocolate chips for the center.
