I’ve been sitting on this recipe for way too long. It’s one of those “why didn’t I share this sooner?” moments, because these Nutella truffles might just be the easiest dessert I’ve ever made… AND they look like something you’d find behind glass at a fancy chocolate shop!!

All you need are three simple ingredients (YES, three!), a bowl, and a spoon. That’s it… No baking, no special tools, no candy thermometer, just quick mixing, a little rolling, and a short chill in the fridge. The result?! Soft, fudgy, melt-in-your-mouth truffles that hit that sweet spot between homemade and dangerously addictive!
They’re rich but not heavy, smooth but still a little chewy, and they come together faster than it takes to pick a show on Netflix. Oh, and you can coat them in anything: cocoa powder, melted chocolate, sprinkles (my personal favorite)… whatever you’ve got in the pantry!
Why You’ll Love It
- Only 3 ingredients. Yep, THREE. No butter, no cream, no complicated steps, just Nutella, cocoa powder, and a little oat flour (or cookie crumbs).
- No baking. You won’t need to turn on the oven or melt chocolate over a double boiler. Just mix, roll, and chill. That’s it!
- Crazy smooth texture. Think fudge meets brownie batter… rich, silky, and perfectly chocolatey. Each bite basically melts on your tongue!!
- Customizable. Roll them in cocoa, coat them in melted chocolate, or add sprinkles like I did, they’ll look store-bought no matter what.
- Make-ahead friendly. These hold up beautifully in the fridge, so you can prep them a day early for parties.
- Kid-approved (and adult-dangerous). Seriously, they’re fun to make with little helpers but even more fun to sneak from the fridge when no one’s looking!

Ingredients
- Nutella: The star of the show! Brings that creamy, chocolate-hazelnut flavor we all love and keeps the center soft and fudgy. Make sure it’s at room temp, it mixes so much easier.
- Unsweetened cocoa powder: Adds depth and balances the sweetness from the Nutella. Dutch-process or natural, both work fine.
- Oat flour: Thickens the truffle base so it rolls nicely without sticking to your hands. Crushed cookies or graham crumbs work too if that’s what’s on hand!
For the coating (optional):
- Melted milk chocolate: For dipping, it gives that shiny outer shell that snaps just slightly when you bite into it.
- Chocolate sprinkles: Totally optional, but they make the truffles look bakery-ready (and add a fun little crunch).
This gives you the basics and a quick why-it-matters rundown… For the exact measurements and full step-by-step instructions, scroll down to the recipe card at the bottom.

How to Make 3-Ingredient Nutella Truffles
1. Make the truffle mixture:
In a medium mixing bowl, combine the Nutella, cocoa powder, and two tablespoons of oat flour. Stir with a spatula until everything starts to come together: thick, glossy, and rich. The mixture will feel a bit like soft cookie dough.
2. Adjust the texture:
If it’s too STICKY to handle, sprinkle in a little more oat flour (just half a tablespoon at a time) until the dough firms up. If it feels too DRY or crumbly, add a teaspoon of milk or warm the bowl in the microwave for 10 seconds to soften the Nutella. You’re looking for that perfect sweet spot: soft, smooth, and easy to roll.

3. Shape the truffles:
Scoop out about a teaspoon of the mixture for each truffle, roll it gently between your palms until perfectly round, and set it on a parchment-lined tray. Keep going until every bit of that chocolatey dough has been turned into little balls of happiness.
4. Coat in chocolate:
Melt the milk chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl in 20-second intervals, stirring between bursts until silky and smooth. Dip each truffle into the melted chocolate, letting the excess drip off before placing it back on the tray.

5. Add the finishing touch:
Before the coating sets, shower the tops with chocolate sprinkles. They’ll stick beautifully while the chocolate is still soft, and make each truffle look like it came from a boutique candy shop!

6. Chill and enjoy:
Pop the tray into the fridge for 30 minutes, just until the chocolate shell firms up and the centers are creamy but stable. Then take a bite… and yeah, it’s as GOOD as it looks, smooth Nutella inside, crisp chocolate outside, and that little crunch from the sprinkles.

Oliver’s Tip: If you’re gifting these, store them in a cool spot and skip the fridge until just before serving. The coating stays glossy longer that way… and they look like they came straight from a chocolatier!
How to Store
- Refrigerate: Once the truffles are set, transfer them to an airtight container and store them in the fridge for up to 7 days. I like to layer them with a small piece of parchment between each row, it keeps the coating nice and smooth.
- Freeze:
These freeze beautifully! Place the chilled truffles on a tray and freeze until firm, then move them to a freezer-safe container or bag. They’ll keep well for about 1 month. When you’re ready to enjoy, let them sit at room temperature for about 10–15 minutes to soften slightly. - Serving tip: They’re best enjoyed cool, when the chocolate shell has that little snap and the center is creamy and fudge-like. And honestly?! Straight from the fridge isn’t a bad idea either… that cold BITE is pretty irresistible!!

3-Ingredient Nutella Truffles
Ingredients
- ½ cup 125 g Nutella, at room temperature
- 3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 –3 tablespoons oat flour or crushed cookies
- 1 teaspoon milk (only if needed to soften the dough)
- 50 g milk chocolate melted
- Chocolate sprinkles for topping
Instructions
- Make the truffle mixture: In a medium bowl, stir together the Nutella, cocoa powder, and 2 tablespoons of oat flour until the mixture becomes thick and smooth.
- Adjust the texture: If the dough is too sticky, add more oat flour ½ tablespoon at a time. If it’s too dry or crumbly, mix in 1 teaspoon of milk or warm the bowl in the microwave for 10 seconds to soften the Nutella.
- Shape the truffles: Scoop about 1 teaspoon of dough for each truffle and roll into small balls. Place on a parchment-lined tray.
- Coat in chocolate: Melt the milk chocolate in 20-second intervals, stirring in between until smooth. Dip each truffle, letting the excess drip off, and return to the tray.
- Add sprinkles: While the chocolate is still wet, top each truffle with chocolate sprinkles.
- Chill: Refrigerate for 30 minutes or until firm. Enjoy chilled or at room temperature.
Notes
- Make sure the Nutella is at room temperature before mixing, cold Nutella won’t blend as smoothly…
- Use unsweetened cocoa powder to balance the sweetness.
- Oat flour gives a soft, creamy texture, but cookie crumbs or almond flour work too.
- These truffles taste even better the next day, the flavors deepen overnight!
